Make Disciples. Build Leaders. Serve Your Community.

A church committed to life transformation through biblical discipleship.

Our Mission

Make disciples, build leaders, and serve our community.

At New Life AWC, everything we do flows from these three pillars. Whether through Life Groups, our rehabilitation programs, or our school, our heart is to see lives transformed by the power of Jesus Christ.

Our Story

How New Life AWC Began

In 2005, Pastor Jesse Cornejo was called to plant a church in Pacoima, California. Alongside his wife, daughter, and two sons, he began teaching personal Bible studies from house to house as people searched for change.

As the church grew, baptisms, miracles, and the gifts of the Spirit were evident as the Lord added to the church.

A Heart Of Restoration

In 2008, Pastor Jesse opened a men’s rehabilitation program known as Lifeline, followed by a women’s division. Both ministries focus on life transformation and holistic recovery through biblical discipleship.

A School For The Next Generation

In 2022, Pastor Jesse established a private church school on our property, offering families a trusted, God-honoring environment for Christian education.

Today: A Life Group Church

New Life AWC functions as a Life Group–driven church. In addition to our Sunday and Wednesday services, trained leaders host weekly groups in homes throughout the community. These groups focus on:

  • Making Disciples

  • Building Leaders

  • Serving Our Community

Anyone — no matter their past — can walk the path toward leadership. Pastor Jesse often says, “I can only truly pastor you if you are part of a Life Group.”

Through this structure, New Life continues helping people become, and make, disciples of Jesus.

Core Beliefs

The Word

The Bible is the divinely inspired, infallible, God-breathed Word. It is our final authority for all doctrine and daily living.

(2 Timothy 3:15–17)

One God

We believe in the biblical revelation of one God — the Creator — who has revealed Himself as Father, Son, and Holy Ghost.

(Deut. 6:4; Isa. 44:6–8; Col. 2:9)

Baptism

We believe in water baptism by immersion in the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, identifying us with Christ’s death, burial, and resurrection.

(Acts 2:38; Romans 6:3–6)

Sin & Salvation

All have sinned, and salvation comes by grace through faith in the saving work of Jesus Christ.

(Rom. 3:23–25; Eph. 2:8–9)

Holy Spirit

We believe in the baptism of the Holy Spirit with the initial evidence of speaking in other tongues.

(Acts 2:4)

Healing

We believe God still heals today. Scripture declares, “The prayer of faith shall save the sick…”

(James 5:15)

Christian Living

We strive to love God and love others while living a life pleasing to Him — inwardly and outwardly. We believe spiritual gifts remain active and available to believers today.

(Mark 12:28–31; 1 Cor. 12:8–10)
